Services and Funding

Mobile Physiotherapy - We come to you.

We are a mobile service and children may be seen in their homes, or other locations including school or daycare.

We provide:

  • Individualised assessments of musculoskeletal, posture, gait, function and movement skills.
  • An individual therapy program based on your child's needs
  • Parent and family education to incorporate strategies into your child's routine/schedule
  • A home program and plan of action based on individual goals
  • Equipment prescription
  • Assessment, therapy and education can all be provided at your child's daycare, preschool or school.
  • Aquatic Physiotherapy (Hydrotherapy) is available in community pools

Consultation Fees


    Initial consultation (45-60 mins)    $170

    

    Complex/Extended consultation  (60-90 mins)  $200

    

    Follow up consultation (30-45 mins) $150

    

   VIDEO CONSULTATIONS AVAILABLE  - INITIAL $150.   FOLLOW UP $120

    

   Travel Fee: Distance of greater than 15km from New Lambton incur a travel fee of $1.65 per km

    

    NDIS:   Pricing for NDIS-funded sessions are inline with the current NDIS pricing Structure.      Please refer to the NDIS website or your support coordinator for the current pricing

    

Report writing 

Upon request, a comprehensive report can be provided to you and your GP/specialist outlining your child’s current abilities, progress and their ongoing needs and provides professional guidance for those involved in a child’s care. Fee charged at hourly rate of $150, minimum 2 hours, quote provided on request.

Developmental Assessments

 

Detailed Standardised Assessment and report. Quotes supplied upon request 

- includes 90 mins - 2 hours of face to face time, with a report minimum of 2 hours

- The assessment may need to be completed over 2 sessions

For more detailed assessments and reports, and inline with evidence based practise, we use Standardised Assessment tools which are administered and scored in a consistent way. It is also important that a suitable outcome measure is used (if appropriate) to help measure progress and identify a baseline of your child’s motor function.

Assessment Tools

We use 2 different assessment tools which are administered according to your child's age and level of development and neurological status.

The Peabody Developmental Motor Scale (PDMS-2)

  • The PDMS-2 assesses fine and gross motor skills of children from birth to 6 years relative to their peers.
  • Identifies delays or disorders in development
  • A useful tool to evaluate a child's progress


The Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOT-2)

  • A comprehensive assessment of gross and fine motor skills for ages 4 to 21 years, 11 months.


Other assessment tools used in clinical practice


The Albert Infant Motor Scale (AIMS)

  • Assesses through observation, gross motor infant gross motor skills from ages 0-18 months. who are delayed or atypical in their motor performance and evaluates motor development over time

The Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM)

  • An observational clinical tool designed to evaluate change in gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy. 

Funding

Private Health Insurance:

Physiotherapy consults may be funded by your private health insurance. The rebate provided by each health fund varies. Contact your private health insurance agency for further information.


GP/Medicare

Children who have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs may be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. A referral form must be completed by your GP.

The CDM entitles you to 5 rebated sessions per calendar year for selected allied health services including physiotherapy. The rebate is currently $55.10 and there will be a gap payment. If you would like to use a CDM plan you will need to provide a copy which may be emailed prior to appointment.We will issue you a receipt that you you may take to medicare to claim your rebate.


National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS):

We are an NDIS registered provider. We provide physiotherapy services, including early intervention to NDIS participants who self-manage their NDIS plan or who use a plan manager.
